About the Exhibition

The exhibit is designed to highlight the value of children’s quality relationships and interactions with people and materials through the engagement of Reggio inspired practices. Our intent is to share through visual means an in depth study of the pedagogy of reciprocal, meaningful relationships that enhance and extend children’s experiences, understandings and development.

“Young children experience their world as an environment of relationships, which affect virtually all aspects of their development”
National Scientific Council on the Developing Child, 2004, p.1.

a basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of the connectedness and contributions to family, school, community, culture and place.

living in the here and now.  Reciprocal and meaningful opportunities to develop a sense of self and well-being. Time to play, try new things and enjoy discovering the world and all it offers – time to just “be” with others.

skilled educators foster reflection of the inter-connectedness of relationships and experiences that support children’s understandings and explorations of the world with body, mind and senses.  These interactive, caring, secure relationships support a developing child and the adult they will become.

“Every child deserves to have someone’s eyes light up when they enter the room.”
Clinton, 2012.
